Accident Summary:

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) reports a fatal collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on North Las Vegas Boulevard at the intersection with North Nellis Boulevard.

According to LVMPD, on January 24, 2023, at 6:47 p.m., a 2020 Nissan Altima was traveling northbound on Las Vegas Boulevard and approaching the intersection with Nellis Boulevard when a pedestrian was crossing over Las Vegas Boulevard from north to south in a marked crosswalk and failed to obey the “walk, don’t walk sign”. The front of the Nissan struck the right side of the pedestrian, who was projected forward and came to rest in the roadway. Despite medical efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Nissan cooperated with the investigation and was not impaired.

This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section and marks the 8th traffic-related fatality in the LVMPD’s jurisdiction for 2023.
