Accident Summary:

A serious accident took place on South Nellis Boulevard, just south of the East Charleston Boulevard intersection, on January 21, 2023 at 5:53 p.m. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), a gray Hyundai Sonata was traveling south on South Nellis Boulevard when a male pedestrian, who was on the west sidewalk, walked into the car’s path of travel. The front of the Hyundai struck the pedestrian, who was transported to Sunrise Hospital in critical condition. The driver of the Hyundai was found to have displayed signs of impairment consistent with marijuana use and was arrested and booked on DUI charges. The collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD’s Collision Investigation Section.
