The LVMPD states that a vehicle vs bicycle accident occurred on August 13, 2022, at approximately 5:19 p.m.

As stated in the Press Release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department “Evidence at the scene and witness statements indicated several kids were riding their bicycles on the west side of 1750 Karen Avenue near an alley that connected a separate apartment complex. A Ford U-Haul box truck was traveling southbound through 1750 Karen Avenue and was approaching the exit. A collision occurred when the juvenile bicyclist entered the path of travel of the Ford U-Haul truck. The juvenile bicyclist fell to the ground and was run over by the Ford U-Haul truck. The driver of the Ford U-Haul truck checked on the juvenile, then left the scene. The juvenile was transported to Sunrise Hospital’s Trauma Unit by ground ambulance. Despite all lifesaving measures, the juvenile succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at Sunrise Hospital by medical staff. The Ford U-Haul truck and the driver were later located. The driver was arrested for hit-and-run charges and was booked into CCDC.”
