Accident Summary:

The LVMPD states that a vehicle vs pedestrian accident occurred on September 16, 2022, at approximately 1:53 a.m.

As stated in the Press Release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department “Evidence at the scene and witness’s statements indicated that an unknown burgundy or red vehicle, described as an older model sedan with tinted windows and black wheels, was traveling east on Washington Avenue, approaching a red traffic signal located at Main Street. An unhoused pedestrian entered the marked crosswalk on the west side of Main Street, attempting to cross Washington Avenue from south to north. The vehicle failed to stop for the red traffic signal, entered the crosswalk, and collided with the pedestrian. After the collision, the vehicle’s driver did not stop and continued east, fleeing the crash area. Arriving medical personnel transported the pedestrian to the University Medical Center’s Trauma Unit, where he remains in critical condition. This collision remains under investigation by the LVMPD’s collision investigation Section.”
