Accident Summary:

A tragic hit-and-run accident took place on East Lake Mead Boulevard, east of the Mt. Hood Street intersection, on January 21, 2023 at 4:25 a.m. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), a silver sedan collided with a female pedestrian who was attempting to cross the street. Despite emergency medical efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The car fled the scene and is described as a silver/light gray 4-door sedan with front-end and windshield damage.

This marks the 7th traffic-related fatality in the jurisdiction of the LVMPD for 2023. The collision is under investigation by the LVMPD’s Collision Investigation section. The LVMPD is seeking information from the public and is offering a cash reward for tips leading to an arrest or indictment through Crime Stoppers.

*Update: On January 21, 2023, LVMPD detectives located the silver Toyota Avalon involved in the fatal hit-and-run and took the driver into custody. The driver was arrested on hit-and-run related charges and the investigation remains ongoing.
