The LVMPD states that a vehicle vs pedestrians accident occurred on January 5, 2023, at approximately 3:37 p.m.

As stated in the Press Release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department “Evidence at the scene and video surveillance indicated a 1998 Lexus GS300 was traveling east on Owens in the right-most travel lane of Owens Avenue at B Street. Two pedestrians were on the south curb of Owens Avenue east of B Street. The Lexus failed to maintain its travel lane and began to rotate clockwise. The Lexus left the roadway to the right, struck the right curb, and entered the east sidewalk of Owens Avenue. The front of the Lexus struck the two pedestrians on the sidewalk. The Lexus re-entered the roadway where it came to rest. Andrews sustained serious injuries, and the unidentified male sustained life-threatening injuries. Both were transported by ambulance to UMC Trauma. Despite all life-saving measures, the unidentified pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by medical personnel. Andrews remains at UMC Hospital for continued medical treatment.”
