Accident Summary:
The LVMPD states that a vehicle vs vehicle accident occurred on January 14, 2023, at approximately 3:21 p.m.
As stated in the Press Release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department “Evidence at the scene, witness statements, and surveillance video indicated that a 2007 Land Rover Sport was traveling southbound on Durango, approaching the intersection with Starboard Drive in the middle of three travel lanes (T2). A 2009 Ford Expedition was traveling northbound on Durango Drive, approaching Starboard in the only left turn lane (L1). A collision occurred when the Ford turned left at the intersection and entered the Land Rover’s path of travel. The Land Rover was re-directed onto the west sidewalk, where it struck a concrete light pole. The occupants of the Land Rover fled the scene before police arrived. Arriving medical personnel determined the driver of the Land Rover was beyond medical intervention and was pronounced deceased at the collision scene. The driver of the Ford sustained minor injuries and was transported to UMC Trauma by ambulance.”
