According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department report, a serious auto-pedestrian collision occurred on April 18, 2025, at approximately 6:41 p.m. on East Oakey Boulevard, just east of Las Vegas Boulevard.
Police reported that a 2021 Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on Oakey Boulevard with a green traffic light when a pedestrian failed to obey the pedestrian traffic control signal and entered the roadway. The pedestrian stepped directly into the path of the Ford Explorer, resulting in the vehicle striking the pedestrian.
Emergency medical personnel responded quickly, transporting the pedestrian to UMC Trauma Center, where they remain in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
