According to a report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, there was a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at around 1:18 a.m. A Tesla Model Y was headed south on Rainbow Boulevard, approaching the intersection with Vegas Drive. A pedestrian was crossing Rainbow Boulevard on a skateboard and was struck by the Tesla. The driver of the Tesla failed to stop and proceeded to flee the scene. Medical personnel arrived on the scene, but the injuries sustained by the pedestrian were too significant, and they were pronounced dead at the scene. This marks the 66th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction.
