According to a report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, there was a collision between a pedestrian and two vehicles on Buffalo Drive north of Certitude Avenue near Arbor View High School on May 2, 2025, at around 11:52 am. A 2018 Chevrolet Malibu headed north on Buffalo Drive, approaching Certitude Avenue. A pedestrian was crossing Buffalo Drive in a marked crosswalk in a school zone when the Chevrolet collided with the pedestrian. After the collision, the Chevrolet collided with a parked 2007 Toyota Camry that was unoccupied. The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to UMC Trauma, but the injuries sustained were too significant, and the pedestrian was pronounced dead. The driver of the Chevrolet showed signs of impairment and was arrested for related charges. This marks the 59th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction for 2025.
