One Pedestrian Fatality after Being Hit by a Car on West Owens Avenue

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), on January 16, 2025, at around 6:00 p.m., a male pedestrian was standing in the street on Owens Avenue near the sidewalk when a 2006 Nissan Murano struck the man causing him to fly into the street. The vehicle proceeded to flee the scene, eastbound on Owens Avenue. Emergency personnel arrived at the scene, and he was transported to UMC Trauma, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. LVMPD later located the Nissan in the parking lot of 905 North Las Vegas Boulevard. The driver was later discovered and put under arrest for hit-and-run-related charges. This is the eighth traffic-related fatality in LVMPD jurisdiction.
