One Pedestrian Dead After Hit-and-Run on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Las Vegas, NV

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, there was a hit-and-run collision that occurred between a vehicle and a pedestrian on March 31, 2025, at around 2:17 a.m. on Martin Luther King Boulevard and Vegas Drive. A 2020 Kia Optima was headed south on Martin Luther King Boulevard approaching the intersection with Vegas Drive. A pedestrian was crossing Martin Luther King Boulevard in a marked crosswalk with the walk signal on. The Kia approached the intersection with the red light and failed to stop, causing them to hit the pedestrian with the front of their vehicle. The Kia proceeded to flee the scene of the accident. Medical personnel arrived on the scene, but the injuries were so severe that the pedestrian was pronounced dead. This marks the 43rd traffic-related fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction. Detectives were able to identify and locate the Kia and its driver. They were booked into the Clark County Detention Center for charges related to the crash.
