According to a report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a collision involving a motorcycle and a transit bus occurred on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at around 7:18 p.m. The accident took place at the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Grand Canyon Drive. A 2014 Harley-Davidson Night Rod special motorcycle was headed south on Grand Canyon Drive when it collided with a 2013 Ford transit bus. After the crash, the driver of the bus tried to flee the scene on foot. He was later arrested for hit-and-run and DUI-related charges. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. This marks the 8th traffic-related fatality for LVMPD’s jurisdiction for 2026.
