According to a report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, there was a collision that occurred between a motorcycle and an RTC bus at the intersection of Rainbow Boulevard and Desert Inn Road on April 21, 2025, at around 1:04 a.m. A 2009 Harley-Davidson headed west on Desert Inn Road, approaching the intersection with Rainbow Boulevard. A 2022 New Flyer RTC Bus headed north on Rainbow Boulevard, approaching the intersection of Desert Inn Road. The Harley-Davidson failed to obey the red traffic light and collided with the right side of the RTC Bus. Due to the significant injuries sustained, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the RTC Bus was transported to Spring Valley Hospital for an evaluation. None of the passengers reported injuries at the scene. This marks the 54th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction.
