According to a report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, there was a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle on Friday, May 9, 2025, at around 5:58 p.m. on Lake Mead Boulevard and James Bilbray Drive. A 2022 Suzuki GSX 600 motorcycle headed east on Lake Mead Boulevard, approaching the intersection with James Bilbray Drive. A 2024 Toyota Tacoma truck stopped on James Bilbray Drive in the left turn lane. The Toyota made a left turn onto Lake Mead Boulevard when the motorcyclist collided with the left side of the Toyota. Medical personnel arrived at the scene of the accident, but the injuries the motorcyclist sustained were too significant, and they were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Toyota sustained minor injuries. This marks the 64th traffic-related fatality in LVMPD’s jurisdiction for 2025.
