As the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) states, on January 22, 2025, at 5:32 a.m., a motorcycle and vehicle had a collision. A 2017 Hyundai Sonata was attempting to turn left onto Andover Drive from Tropicana Avenue. The traffic signal changed from a flashing yellow arrow to a solid yellow arrow. Traffic slowed due to the light change. The driver of the Hyundai proceeded through the intersection. The motorcyclist was traveling east on Tropicana Avenue and struck the rear of the Hyundai. Due to the impact of the collision, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. This marks the 11th fatality in LMVPD’s jurisdiction in the year 2025.
