On the early morning of January 28, 2025, at 4:36 a.m., the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reports a collision between a pedestrian and vehicle on West Sunset Road just west of South Las Vegas Boulevard. A 2015 Nissan Altima was stopped facing north on Las Vegas Boulevard for a red traffic arrow. When the traffic signal turned green, the driver made a left turn onto Sunset Road. During this time, a pedestrian did not obey the traffic signal and began crossing Sunset Road. The Nissan hit the pedestrian, and they were pushed into the street. Medical personnel arrived on the scene and transported the pedestrian to UMC Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries.
