On January 19, 2025, at around 12:00 p.m., a driver of a 2024 Volkswagen Jetta was traveling through a parking lot when they suffered a suspected medical episode and crash into the Calypso Apartments located on 6501 Vegas Drive, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD). The driver of the Jetta lost control and accelerated the vehicle into the apartment complex, where the car hit a metal pole and the complex gate. Medical personnel transported the driver to UMC Trauma, where the individual was pronounced dead.
