According to Fox 5 Las Vegas, on January 23, 2025, at around 1:30 a.m., a driver stole a 2008 Gillig Transit passenger bus. The bus was parked on a flyover ramp where it was disabled. While the individual was attempting to steal the bus, a 2008 Honda Pilot was traveling west in the same lane. The driver of the Honda hit the rear of the bus, which caused the Honda to rotate and hit a concrete barrier. The injuries obtained by the driver of the Honda were fatal. The bus driver was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and DUI charges. This is the 6th fatal crash that the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Unit has investigated in the year 2025.
