Shawn, along with Esteban Sandoval and Benedict James, formed SJW Injury Attorneys. SJW, which also goes by Sandoval James and Walkenshaw, is a firm dedicated to providing the highest level of representation and obtaining the best possible results for each and every client. Shawn has experience in all aspects of the litigation process and has represented clients on appeal to both the Nevada Supreme Court and United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Shawn has been recognized by Super Lawyers Magazine as a “Rising Star” and a “Top Rated Civil Litigation Attorney in Las Vegas, NV.”
Before he formed SJW, Shawn spent several years handling complex commercial litigation matters. During this time, Shawn’s practice focused primarily on complicated business disputes where he represented a range of businesses across various industries, including multinational computer technology companies and global financial institutions. It was in these large, complex business disputes, where Shawn learned to be a fierce proponent of his clients.
While representing large business, Shawn took on a personal injury case and found he had a passion for representing people who have been hurt due to another’s negligence. Since that time, Shawn has dedicated himself and his practice to providing injured parties the highest quality representation.
Shawn earned his law degree from the William S. Boyd School of Law, where he received multiple scholarships. While attending law school, Shawn was a judicial extern for the Honorable Mike K. Nakagawa of the United States Bankruptcy Court, District of Nevada.
Before going to law school, Shawn attended the University of Nevada, Reno where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics, a Bachelor of Science in Finance, and a minor in Mathematics. Shawn also gained significant experience in the finance industry before attending law school.
